The MCA is one of the biggest employers in the region and works in cooperation with universities like VU University and the Amsterdam University on research and high-quality training.

In the NHN region, colleges like InHolland and ROC are the leading institutions for senior secondary vocational education (MBO) and beyond. In the region, education institutions and businesses work closely together, particularly at cluster level. As a result, students receive an education that is perfectly tailored to the demand from the job market, making them ideal employees for local businesses. In Bergen there is a European School which offers places to around 600 students each year.
